The iPhone alarm clock is not working due to a bug: Apple announces the resolution of the problem, but this morning the iPhone alarm clock continued not to ring.
The alarm clock on iPhone is not working since January 1, 2011: this is the first bug of the new year for Apple. Thousands of iPhone users were unable to set their alarm as configured on their device, but what’s worse is that the same unfortunate “coincidence” occurred again yesterday and today.
From Cupertino, assurances arrived that the problem would be spontaneously resolved by January 3rd, meaning today. Yet, even in Italy, many are continuing to report that the iPhone alarm did not ring.
This is indeed a bug, and the second of its kind: you will all remember that the same inconvenience occurred with the switch to daylight saving time.
The devices updated with the latest version of iOS were affected, so not only iPhones but also iPads and iPod Touches.
The only useful advice to overcome the problem, for fear that it might happen again, is to set the alarm status as “recurring“.
This precaution should be kept in mind for next year, if Apple does not release a specific update in the meantime. It must be said, in fact, that the problem has been admitted by Cupertino, but at the moment there is no update underway to fix this strange bug that clashes with holidays and changes in standard/daylight saving time.
