The iPhone 5 does not have the same price in Europe and America: clear price differences for the purchase of the new smartphone are noted from the French and German Apple stores. How much will it cost in Italy? Here’s a hypothesis.

After the excitement surrounding the iPhone 5 announcement, here comes the cold shower for those already considering its purchase: taking a look at the first official prices in Europe – on the French and German Apple stores – it’s immediately clear that iPhone 5 will cost more in Europe than in America.
The new smartphone from Apple will arrive in France and Germany starting September 21st, while in Italy from September 28th: this is why the prices in these first two countries are already known, as pre-orders need to begin.
Specifically, the iPhone 5 costs 679 euros for the 16 GB version; 789 euros for the 32 GB; and finally 899 euros for the 64 GB, as reported by Apple.com/fr.
If these figures already leave a bitter taste compared to US prices, we still have to wait for those related to Italian sales, as in the past there has always been an additional increase of 50 euros in our country, especially compared to France.
This would mean paying 949 euros for the top-of-the-range 64 GB model: an enormous sum, especially when compared to the price of the iPhone 5 in the same version in America (399 dollars).
An abysmal difference, although still hypothetical since the sales prices in Italy have not yet been released.
Furthermore, it should be noted that the US prices refer to the bundle with a two-year contract with local telephone companies.
Certainly, offers linked to Vodafone, Tim, Wind, and Tre are also about to arrive in Italy, as the major telephone operators have already prepared specific web pages on their institutional sites, although they have not yet published any prices or contractual conditions related to the launch of the new iPhone 5.
It is, however, only a matter of days, if not hours.
