The iPhone 5 presentation could take place on October 4: Tim Cook, Apple’s new CEO, is expected on stage.
A date is beginning to emerge from the rumors and iPhone 5 previews: October 4, 2011. On this day, Apple may officially unveil its new product with a special event dedicated entirely to the iPhone 5.
However, one detail is missing: official confirmation from Apple itself.
The juicy scoop comes from the site All Things Digital, which adds further details: the well-known low-cost iPhone 4 will also be presented. Regarding the voice that will announce the new devices, it’s certain it won’t be Steve Jobs‘ voice, but much more likely that of Tim Cook, Apple’s new CEO.
Needless to say, for perhaps the first time ever, all eyes will be on the speaker rather than the new products. There’s anticipation regarding Cook’s public performance, a figure who, like it or not, will inevitably be compared to the image of Apple’s great charismatic leader, Steve Jobs.
The notable absentee of these weeks is not expected, but a remote possibility of his intervention in some way at the event continues to circulate.
Although this supposed presentation is yet to be confirmed, a series of clues remain clear, the first being the rumor that the iPhone 5 would be available starting October 15 in the United States, according to internal sources at the telephone company Sprint.
The timing of the public presentation and the subsequent sales would indeed be perfectly compatible, and if one adds Apple’s tradition of organizing these kinds of events on Tuesdays, it’s likely that All Things Digital has gotten it right.
