iPad Mini 2 rumors: release between mid-2013 and end of 2013

Rumors are becoming increasingly frequent: the iPad Mini 2 might actually be released, within the first half of 2013 in the most optimistic scenarios.

Talk of the iPad Mini 2 is circulating again, the compact tablet that appears to be the new object of desire – even though it hasn’t been released yet – not only for Apple fans but also for those seeking a lightweight yet high-performance tablet.
It has been repeatedly mentioned that the future iPad Mini 2 could be equipped with a Retina Display, an absolutely welcome feature that would undoubtedly represent a significant plus: today we learn that the Retina Display will indeed be present.
The confirmation does not come from Apple circles but from Paul Semenza, an analyst at Display Search: it is he who confidently launches the rumor, adding above all that to purchase an iPad Mini 2, one will have to wait until mid-2013, at the latest by the fourth quarter of 2013.
Still according to Display Search’s analyses, the new display should boast a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels and a density of 324 ppi.
This would make it truly competitive and offer great visual quality, although the thickness of the next iPad Mini might be affected.

However, it is definitely too early to even hypothesize such a change in the general design of Apple’s next tablet.
In any case, what Display Search highlights is the trend towards increased production of high-resolution panels precisely during the third quarter of 2013: a sign that something is certainly brewing.
