iPad Mini 2: Early Reports on Retina Display and Potential Release

In Apple’s near future, the arrival of iPad Mini 2 might be on the horizon: here are some early reports regarding its components and new features.

After months of rumors, Apple has confirmed the existence and release of iPad Mini, a tablet with smaller screen dimensions compared to the classic iPad.
Today, discussions are turning to this specific device, as the release of the new iPad Mini 2 is already being speculated.
It appears that, in fact, the Cupertino labs are already working on creating the successor to the “mini-tablet”.
The leak – disseminated by the Chinese magazine DoNews – originated from Asian sources, specifically AU Optronics, the company that supplied the panel for the iPad Mini screen.
According to an internal source, the new iPad Mini 2 is not only certain to be released in 2013 – probably by the end of the year – but will also feature a Retina Display.
The screen dimensions are not expected to change, remaining at 7.9 inches with a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels.

Consequently, the battery will also likely be upgraded to support the increased brightness and power required by the screen.
However, this last point is merely a hypothesis and a deduction by the author, not a new scoop.
If the day starts well, we can expect further leaks in the coming months, before the potential release of the iPad Mini 2, to understand if a new smaller tablet is indeed on its way, appealing to those who were already waiting for a Retina Display on the first iPad Mini.
