iPad 3 is apparently in production: few are the features that are beginning to be rumored. These are only rumors and small previews but with a core of substance.
We are talking again about iPad 3, the successor to the two versions of the tablet that revolutionized the mobile approach and gave a decisive push to the entire
tablet production of the iPad 3 reportedly already started, and the most optimistic are talking about sales starting as early as March 2012.
What makes us think this way is a rumor related to a specific component of the iPad 3: specifically, there are talks about the details of the display.
supply having already been finalized. These would be 10-inch screens with Retina technology and a resolution of 2048 x 1536, but a further model of around 7 inches is not ruled out, though it might arrive in the second half of 2012.
This hypothesis, although it has indeed circulated, makes many external observers doubt: Steve Jobs had dismissed the idea of releasing tablets with screens of these dimensions, so it is expected that the matter was already shelved a long time ago, only to be brought up again today.
It is true, however, that at this moment there is a potentially dangerous tablet for all competitors: the Kindle Fire, inexpensive, colorful, and with a not excessively large display. If the sales of the Amazon tablet prove to be positive, then the path of smaller screen sizes might begin to be explored.
Returning to the iPad 3 and its screen, the manufacturers of this component should be Sharp, LG, and Samsung, according to forecasts released by DisplaySearch, a company that specializes in monitors and displays.
Another rumor concerns the overall dimensions of the iPad 3: it seems that the focus is on thinning. However, this would be difficult to achieve if the overall slimness of the tablet were really targeted.
Nothing else could be known at the moment, but if the roadmap were respected to truly launch iPad 3 by March, there could still be news soon.
