iPad 3 to Launch in February for Jobs’ Birthday

This is a rumor but with credible foundations: apparently, iPad 3 could be released during February 2012, coinciding with Steve Jobs’ birthday.

A posthumous gift or a way to remember the Apple leader once more: it seems that iPad 3 will be released in February 2012, specifically on February 23rd, the day before Steve Jobs’ birthday.
The news has spread across the pages of the Huffington Post, whose sources are reportedly Asian: a Chinese-language newspaper – Focus Taiwan – has indeed reported that companies working for Apple in China are in a period of intense work – with overtime being necessary – to accelerate the production timeline of iPad 3.
This hypothesis is further supported by what is read in another newspaper, the Economic Daily News, a Chinese publication. These columns also mention that employees of some companies have been asked to avoid absences and holidays during this period, even though it falls within the Lunar New Year festivities.
It appears that overtime has already been scheduled and that employees will be allowed a maximum of five days of leave in total.
The objective seems clear: to be ready for the February launch, coinciding with Steve Jobs’ birth date.
Regarding anticipations about iPad 3’s features and external appearance, there is more secrecy, and thus nothing certain has yet been leaked; what seems clear is the desire for a restyling: it appears that the new iPad 3 might be slightly thicker than its predecessor. At the same time, some are betting that iPad 3 could also be launched in a 7-inch version.
