Internet Explorer 9 has not yet been released, but the first useful information about the new features of the renewed navigation software is beginning to leak from Microsoft’s headquarters.
The watchword that is already being emphasized before the launch is “security,” and indeed what Microsoft announces is a component based precisely on the security of personal data online. It’s Tracking Protection, the solution that, along with the “InPrivate” browsing mode, cancels the tracking of one’s movements on the various websites visited, also preventing third parties connected to the navigated sites from accessing one’s data.
The user will be able to customize the settings of Tracking Protection, specifying which sites can or cannot access information released during normal browsing sessions. A step towards ending the monitoring of personal activities on the web.
So far, these are the confirmed novelties; regarding rumors, it seems that this system is capable of blocking Facebook banners and those of various social networks, as well as advertisements. An almost total closure, it appears. However, there has been no official information from Microsoft on these aspects.
A further novelty of IE9 is speed: the new version of the browser will allow, if requested by the user through a specific setting, to accelerate the performance of their hardware.
To verify all this and the actual functionality of Tracking Protection, we will not have to wait long: the release candidate of Internet Explorer 9 is expected in the coming days, presumably by the end of 2010.
