Instagram is currently testing new business profiles, as stated at the beginning of the year. In recent days, it has introduced the “Contact” button for businesses.
Although still in the experimental phase, anticipation is growing for the release of Instagram business profiles. According to well-informed sources, the new Instagram business profiles should be similar to those of Facebook. After all, Instagram is a product of Facebook, following the acquisition of over a billion dollars in April 2012.
The profiles, currently being tested with a small group of users, offer a variety of useful features for those managing a business account on Instagram. Among these have “popped up” the “Contact” button, access to maps, and business classification capabilities. Users can now set their location to navigate to the business’s address. A deja vu, which nonetheless finds its utility.
The most significant visual difference between a business profile and a private one is the new white “Contact” button at the top of the screen, to the left of the “Follow” button.
However, from a graphical standpoint, Instagram business profiles also resemble those of Linkedin, perhaps because both are business profiles.
Business profiles have not yet been launched by Instagram, so most users will not see any new features in their app. The testing phase, after all, has been entrusted to a select group of users of the world’s most popular photography app. However, according to some news circulating on the internet these days, the release of Instagram business profiles should be a matter of months.
In recent times, Instagram has increased its focus on advertising, particularly video ads. This justifies Instagram’s interest in business profiles, which will, in some ways, be able to follow in the footsteps of its parent company, Facebook.
Instagram currently boasts over 200,000 advertisers and over 400 million active users, and its future is entirely oriented towards small businesses.
