HTC Sensation XL is the new HTC smartphone with genuinely XL price and dimensions, as its name suggests. Large features, large screen, great sound.
HTC is releasing one smartphone after another, and while awaiting the actual launch of the Facebook phone, likely named HTC Buffy, here’s a new device: HTC Sensation XL. Indeed, the device’s dimensions are considerable: the TFT LCD screen alone – a capacitive touchscreen – has a 4.7-inch diagonal, truly wide and spacious.
Yet, the strong point of this smartphone, which – we specify immediately – is positioned in the high-price range, is not just the design but the clear and powerful sound, guaranteed by Beats Audio technology. It’s no coincidence that high-quality urBeats earphones are included in the packaging, for virtually crystal-clear sound perception.
The processor is 1.5 GHz and the operating system is Android 2.3 Gingerbread, however, in the early weeks of 2012, it will be possible to update the HTC Sensation XL to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The 16 GB of internal storage is very good, among the most generous not only for HTC but for smartphones in general.
The main camera is 8 Megapixels paired with an LED flash, while the front camera is small but perfect for video calls.
If, therefore, the HTC Sensation XL is characterized by powerful audio, the battery must be equally powerful to support functions related to listening to music, watching videos, and sustaining web browsing sessions: it’s a 1600 mAh lithium-ion battery that promises 410 hours in standby and over 11 hours of talk time, all on a single charge.
Decidedly remarkable, from its dimensions to its internal features.
And indeed, the price of the HTC Sensation XL aligns perfectly with so many high-level features: 649 euros are all necessary to purchase this smartphone.
