It’s called the HTC One A9, and it’s the new smartphone coming from HTC: here are its price and features.
Yesterday, HTC officially announced the release of a new smartphone model. Its name is HTC One A9, and it is positioned in the high-end range, consequently also in the high-price range.
After the first images of the new device were released, it was impossible not to notice that the design does not strongly resemble previous models – a distinctive feature of HTC devices – but rather retains some aesthetic characteristics of Apple’s iPhones.
And indeed, Apple’s smartphone was often used as a point of comparison with the new HTC during yesterday’s presentation event.
So, let’s get to the technical specifications of the HTC One A9: first and foremost, the body is made of metal (aluminum, very elegant and robust) which frames the 5-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4.
The operating system is Android 6.0 Marshmallow – an absolute novelty on a smartphone not directly produced by Google – and the interface is HTC Sense 7.
The heart of this device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with a 64-bit octa-core CPU and LTE X8.
The RAM is 2 GB and the internal memory is 16 GB; what’s more interesting is that the latter can be expanded up to a maximum of 2 TB (using a MicroSD card, to be purchased separately).
The camera system is truly noteworthy: the main camera is 13 megapixels; so far, nothing particularly innovative. However, there are some details to consider that enhance its quality: the inclusion of optical image stabilization (OIS) and the ability to save photos in RAW.
The front camera, on the other hand, is equipped with UltraPixel technology, allowing it to capture more light – an estimated 300% more than usual – for better results.
Finally, videos during editing can be processed with the Hyperlapse system, for 12 times faster acceleration compared to usual.
The connectivity features are absolutely comprehensive, with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, GPS/AGPS/Glonas, and NFC modules.
Finally, on the front, there is also a fingerprint reader.
Completing the brief overview of the technical features are the 2150 mAh battery – designed with a fast charging function – and the range of colors available for sale: Carbon Gray, Opal Silver, Topaz Gold, and Deep Garnet.
The price of the HTC One A9 has not yet been officially announced, but it is estimated to be no less than 600 euros.
