Here are the officially unveiled features of the HTC 8S, a smartphone running the new Windows Phone 8 operating system. No official confirmation yet on the price.
HTC has launched two new smartphones equipped with the Windows Phone 8 operating system: HTC 8S is the device we might place in the “mid-range” category.
Its processor is a 1GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4, which communicates with 512 MB of RAM.
Internal memory is 4 GB, expandable via microSD card; furthermore, it’s worth noting that an additional 7GB of SkyDrive storage will be available.
The design highlights tapered, thin shapes made of polycarbonate, allowing the user to handle the smartphone with ease, without sacrificing a touch of vibrant color: it is indeed possible to choose between three colors, namely High-Rise Gray, Atlantic Blue, and Domino.
The screen is a 4-inch Super LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 480 px and a Gorilla Glass coating.
Onboard this smartphone, there is finally a rear-facing camera with 5 megapixels available.
There is no second front-facing camera, nor is there any sign of an NFC module.
However, from an audio system perspective, it is noteworthy that it features Beats Audio.
No details have been provided regarding the price of the HTC 8S, although its release is already expected in November.
