GoPro announces the upcoming release of a brand-new action camera, featuring an affordable price.
News is coming to shelves worldwide, dedicated to those who love to shoot while doing sports or in particularly active situations.
GoPro has indeed announced the release of a new action camera, this time entirely dedicated to those who wish to purchase a terminal of this type but have a reduced budget.
The new GoPro HERO+ features a low-cost price, decidedly more economical than the category: it has indeed been decided to offer the GoPro HERO+ at the recommended retail price of 199.99 euros.
Availability will be guaranteed starting from October 4th.
Regarding the technical features, the GoPro HERO+ allows you to take photos with an 8-megapixel lens, while for videos, it is possible to shoot them at 1080p/60fps.
The “time-lapse” mode, present on this action camera with shooting speeds between 0.5 and 60 seconds, is now essential for this type of filming.
A self-regulation system provides information about the light present in the scene, so as to automatically establish the frame rate, for better results.
Sequential shooting is also very fast, with the “burst” function that promises 10 photos in just 2 seconds.
As for storage capacity, this action cam is equipped with a slot for microSD cards up to a maximum of 64 GB.
Regarding battery life, the company’s estimates indicate 2 hours and 25 minutes of full operation with Wi-Fi off, while if you stay connected via Wi-Fi, the battery – 1,160 mAh – should last 20 minutes less, therefore 2 hours and 5 minutes.
There is also a provision to “dialogue” remotely with the GoPro HERO+: this can be done via a special remote control which, however, must be purchased separately, as it is not included in the sales pack.
Editing can be done quite intuitively using the GoPro Studio software.
WiFi (as announced a moment ago) and Bluetooth connectivity modules are also present, so as to quickly share the results of shots and recordings, as well as allowing the GoPro HERO+ to interface with smartphones and tablets.
This is made even easier thanks to the dedicated official app “GoPro”, available for both iOS and Android.
Naturally, it is also possible to transfer files “traditionally” – so to speak – by using the micro USB port and a special cable.
The last details worth noting are the weight (121 grams) and the fact that the GoPro HERO+ can be used in water, up to 40 meters deep, as it is equipped with a special waterproof case.
It is undoubtedly an “entry level” action camera, but the features are more than decent.
