**Yahoo!** announces new features for its photo-sharing service **Flickr** as well: more **free space for everyone**, and more.
In a press conference held yesterday in New York, Marissa Mayer of Yahoo! not only confirmed the acquisition of Tumblr – as anticipated on the pages of FullPress and as subsequently confirmed by press releases issued by the respective companies – but also outlined a series of novelties concerning Flickr.
The photo sharing service will also see some changes starting today, beginning with the graphic interface.
Goodbye useless elements: the space is now entirely dedicated to images that scroll in a feed similar to that offered by most of the most widely used social networks.
In general, the appearance appears more intuitive than in the past, and leaner, with the elements now essential on every social platform: from the cover photo to the “tags” at the top of the personal profile.
Furthermore, the functionality of uploading HD videos at 1080p has been added, although there is still a duration limit: videos longer than 3 minutes cannot be uploaded.
It is understood that the ability to upload videos will in any case also be limited by the available space for each user, but there are also interesting updates on this front.
Starting this morning, in fact, all registered users have been able to appreciate an increase in the free space limit granted to each account: there is 1 Terabyte for free available.
For those who need more storage, it is possible to purchase an additional Terabyte for $499.99 per year.
