Also available for iOS starting today, Firefox is ready via the App Store.
Firefox arrives on Apple devices: the announcement was made official through the browser’s dedicated blog pages.
After many months of work and a sort of initial “reluctance” that lasted several years, the Mozilla Foundation labs have evidently concluded that a version of Firefox for iOS could also interest Apple users.
At the very least, the presence of a dedicated app on the App Store was likely deemed useful for several reasons.
Here comes the definitive version of Firefox for iOS, ready to be used on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
The tool will certainly benefit existing Firefox users, as it allows synchronization of tabs, bookmarks, passwords, and all browsing history.
Rather than a bold move, Firefox’s arrival appears almost like a duty, arriving – to be honest – quite late compared to some other competitors.
However, it is worth noting that changing browsers in this sector is not a significant innovation, as users often exhibit deeply ingrained habits.
The vast majority, in fact, tend to use the browser “natively” offered on their reference device.
Alternatively, users opt for the browser they tend to use most in their daily lives, precisely because they might make use of bookmarks, history, and other already stored data, which are therefore immediately accessible – via synchronization – also on mobile.
Not a great revolution, therefore, but an important and useful step for those who love Firefox, certainly worth mentioning.
