Courses to become a drone pilot begin: prices for certificates

New professional figure officially recognized: soon the first drone pilots. Here is the information and prices for obtaining the necessary certificates.

I drones are increasingly spreading in Italy – and not only – and with them, all the applicable regulations are beginning to be studied and disseminated.
In addition to the need to take out regular insurance for drone use, soon you will also have to obtain a “license” to be able to pilot a drone, understood naturally as UAS (i.e. unmanned aircraft system) and not as drones of the type produced – to give a concrete example – by Parrot.
From the circumstance of having to set clear rules for those who own one of these flying devices, here is the creation of professional courses for drone pilots.
ENAC has indeed officially authorized for the first time in Italy a Roman company to hold such courses, so as to obtain the required certification, especially for those who want to pilot a drone over other people’s property.
In fact, there will be two valid titles: the self-certification, useful for those who use smaller devices and fly in non-critical situations; or the actual ” drone operator certificate“, necessary for larger drones and for flights over congested areas or specific areas, such as industrial zones.

The company has obtained the necessary authorizations from ENAC and can therefore provide lessons both in the classroom and remotely: the course to become a drone pilot – at least for the theoretical part – can indeed be followed online and will be equally valid in all respects.
Two training paths:

• to obtain the ” theoretical competence certificate“: 16 hours of theory to learn how to configure and maintain a drone, understand its operation, assess flight situations and deal with any circumstance, even dangerous ones. The price is 500 euros.
• obtaining the “certificate of competence”: in this case, we are talking about the actual practice, therefore it is the document necessary to be able to fly a drone. In this case, the course must be attended at the location where the lessons will be held and not online, naturally. The price is 150 euros for three hours.
