Canon Powershot SX 260 HS is one of the newest compact cameras Canon, arriving in Italian stores starting in March.
Definitely powerful is the 20x optical zoom, designed to “bring closer” distant subjects, a common condition for adventure lovers who seek to reach peaks, animals, or simply love to shoot in any situation.
Additionally, there is the possibility to activate ZoomPlus technology which allows extending the zoom range up to 39x, without excessively losing quality and sharpness.
Image processing is handled by the DIGIC 5 processor, paired with a high sensitivity 12.1-megapixel CMOS sensor that ensures low noise even in low light conditions.
Among the features offered by this camera is face identification (called “Face ID”): it not only allows focusing well on faces, even in large groups, but also allows setting some parameters by saving information of the most recurring subjects. Thus, it will be possible to enter the birthdate of the stored face, to keep track of photos associated with it. Not only that: in the presence of newborns, for example, the camera recognizes the subject’s age and automatically disables the flash and reduces noise, to avoid disturbing the baby.
Furthermore, this camera also allows recording Full HD (1080p) videos with stereo audio and optical zoom.
Finally, by equipping the Canon Powershot SX 260 HS with a special waterproof case (to be purchased separately, thus not included in the package) it will be possible to shoot even underwater, down to 40 meters depth.
Four colors are offered for this camera: black, red, silver, and green.
As for the Canon Powershot SX 260 HS price, the recommended retail price is 330 euros.
