Canon PowerShot G1 X: the price is related to its surprising features, revealed here before its market launch, scheduled for February.
Canon PowerShot G1 X offers relatively compact dimensions while ensuring outstanding performance comparable to an entry-level DSLR, all enclosed in a solid yet lightweight steel body.
Canon PowerShot G1 X features the new and powerful DIGIC 5 processor, combined with the performance of a 14.3-megapixel 4:3 aspect ratio CMOS sensor – 18.7 x 14 mm: this is the first time such a sensor has been used, in many ways comparable to those used in some EOS cameras.
A resolution of 14.3 megapixels and good on-chip noise reduction complete the technical specifications, positioning the Canon PowerShot G1 X as a camera suitable for advanced photography enthusiasts or true professionals who need a lightweight, powerful, and highly versatile camera.
As is now standard even for much more basic cameras than this one, it is possible to shoot Full HD (1080p) videos at 24fps with stereo audio, even in low-light conditions.
Applicable functions and framing can always be monitored carefully via the 7.5 cm – hence 3 inches – PureColor II VA vari-angle LCD screen.
Many accessories will be available to further enhance the Canon PowerShot G1 X:
- Canon Speedlite EX flashes;
- WP-DC44 underwater housing;
- optional FA-DC58C filter adapter;
- Macro Ring Lite adapter (MLA-DC1).
The arrival of this new Canon camera in stores is expected during February, while regarding the price of the Canon PowerShot G1 X, the company states that the suggested retail price is 710 euros.
