Low price and new features for Archos GamePad 2, the tablet designed for gamers and gaming.
Archos is back with a new tablet, and this time, as in the past, it has decided to dedicate itself to a specific user base: gamers.
Archos GamePad 2, the name of this brand-new device, has indeed been designed specifically for this type of user; the features have been improved compared to the first model, but the price remains low-cost.
The chosen operating system for the Archos GamePad 2 is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, with a 1.6 GHz quad-core Cortex-A9 SoC processor. 2 GB of RAM form the base, with internal storage available in 8 GB or 16 GB versions, expandable via microSD card up to a maximum of 64 GB.
Regarding the display, it’s a 7-inch HD IPS with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, while the graphics chip is an ARM Mali 400 MP4 GPU.
There’s also a front camera, and it’s known that the battery has been enhanced; however, the specific details regarding its characteristics are missing.
The overall dimensions are 200.5x154x9.9 millimeters, weighing 400 grams.
Finally, the ARCHOS GamePad 2 is equipped with two more precise curved analog sticks and dual controls on each side.
Regarding the natively offered content, it is reported that full versions of two Gameloft titles are available: “Asphalt 8: Airborne” and “Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour”.
Naturally, despite being a device suitable for gaming, the Archos GamePad 2 is a tablet through and through.
The price of the Archos GamePad 2 is 179.99 euros, and its release is expected by the end of October.
