Archos FamilyPad 2 is the new tablet recently presented by the company Archos: here is its retail price and release forecast.
Archos is back to present a new tablet once again aimed at the family target: the new “Archos FamilyPad 2” is coming.
What undoubtedly strikes is the size, as the screen is 13.3 inches, with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. This significant detail increases the device’s weight to 1.3 kilograms, making it more like carrying a notebook than a tablet.
However, the idea is to make this tablet a more useful tool at home, accessible to all family members, and specifically ideal for gaming and entertainment activities.
Regarding its core, it consists of a 1.6 GHz dual-core Cortex A9 processor, supported by 1 GB of RAM.
Compared to the first tablet, the FamilyPad, there is also a step forward in terms of the operating system, which on this new tablet is natively Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Internal memory is 8 GB but can be expanded by an additional 32 GB with microSD cards.
There are then two cameras available, but both have a 2 Megapixel sensor.
Since the Archos FamilyPad 2 appears to be specifically a tablet for entertainment, it features a boosted battery (this detail also contributed to the increase in overall weight) to provide 10 hours of autonomy.
Finally, Archos Media Center is preloaded, so you immediately have a proprietary media player specifically for multimedia activities, including watching videos up to 1080p.
The price of the Archos FamilyPad 2 is 299 euros, and regarding its arrival in European stores, the company has not released a precise date but has assured that distribution will occur very soon.
