Android Ice Cream Sandwich: Android 4 Arrives in October

The development of the new Android 4 operating system is in its final stages: Android Ice Cream Sandwich, that’s its name, should be available as early as October.

It’s common knowledge that competition stimulates the market: apparently, even high-tech companies are not immune to this law. Could it be a coincidence that the release of Android 4 will most likely happen around October? Or rather, did the arrival of iPhone 5 in the same period, complete with the new iOS 5, give an additional boost to the faster development of Android Ice Cream Sandwich? This is indeed the “codename” given to the fourth version of Google’s operating system, in keeping with the sweet tradition it has followed since its inception.
Sweet names for equally tempting developments, apparently also linked to the sale of a new Nexus smartphone, specifically to “inaugurate” the launch of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with a complete brand offering.
That the new operating system was under development is a certainty, officially confirmed by the company itself.
What appears more interesting is the compatibility of Android 4 with tablets, smartphones, PCs, and possibly even with TVs, or at least with Google TV.
A more complete and comprehensive platform that, if indeed accompanied by the launch of Nexus 3, could pose serious competition to Apple: on the shelves of stores and online, during the Christmas period, the only noteworthy novelty would no longer be just the iPhone 5, but also a new, fiercest rival.
Regardless of the sales figures for either device, it’s clear that misfortune in the smartphone sector seems to have lost its third contender: Nokia.
