At the Computex stands in Taipei, Acer has presented the new tablet Acer Iconia W700. The unique feature is that it runs Windows 8.
Acer Iconia W700 is the new Acer tablet just presented at the Computex event in Taipei.
The first relevant piece of news is that this tablet will run the new Windows 8 operating system, a novelty in the sector. The chosen processor is an Intel Ivy Bridge.
As for the screen, the tablet features an 11.6-inch multitouch display capable of detecting multiple touches simultaneously. Regarding its resolution, it is specified as Full HD, 1920 x 1080.
Two cameras are included: the primary rear camera is 5 megapixels, while the front camera is useful for video calls and video chats.
This tablet is a great companion for consuming various types of content, also thanks to the support for Dolby Home Theater.
Furthermore, and importantly, the presence of three USB 3.0 ports is noteworthy: a decidedly appreciated extra.
The tablet is equipped with Bluetooth technology, an excellent way to connect it with a portable keyboard that can optionally be paired with the device: thus, it will be possible to use the Acer Iconia W700 as if it were a netbook.
Although the price of the Acer Iconia W700 has not yet been officially announced, it is speculated that purchasing it might require at least 800 dollars, if not a bit more.
