LG is making a strong entry into the tablet segment with the presentation of the LG Optimus Pad. This brand-new device, set to arrive in Italy in April, boasts two standout features: the Android 3.0 operating system (codename Honeycomb) and stereoscopic 3D.
The 8.9-inch screen displays Full HD 1080p videos with fluidity and sharpness, while the 5-megapixel camera allows for recording stereoscopic 3D video. Its 15:9 aspect ratio makes it highly suitable for playing videos and multimedia content, presented in widescreen format with WXGA 1280 x 768 resolution. The compact design is also noteworthy: the LG Optimus Pad fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, as visible in the accompanying photo.
To prevent slowdowns, the NVIDIA Tegra 2 mobile processor and a 1 GHz Dual Core CPU have been chosen, ensuring fast performance and ample power, even when using the LG Optimus Pad tablet as a video game console.
As mentioned earlier, another important feature of the LG Optimus Pad is its foundation on Android 3.0 Honeycomb. This makes LG’s tablet particularly versatile and powerful for using Google eBooks, Google Maps 5, and Google Talk.
All of this makes the LG Optimus Pad a multimedia tool suited for both personal entertainment and work needs; among other things, the powerful camera enables excellent connections for video conferences.
Naturally, everything is customizable through access to the Android Market.
As of today, the price of the LG Optimus Pad is not yet known.
