LG, to emphasize its presence at the MWC 2011 in Barcelona, is focusing heavily on 3D. After discussing the LG Optimus Pad tablet, we present to you the new LG Optimus 3D, a 3D smartphone that doesn’t require glasses.
The evolution of 3D is rapid and aims at an immersive experience without the mandatory use of glasses. In this sense, LG has also moved and introduced the LG Optimus 3D, the new smartphone that promises three-dimensional experiences even without special glasses, released with Android 2.2 (Froyo).
Other innovative elements include the first dual core, dual channel, and dual memory architecture: in one word what can be defined as “tri-dual“.
The strength of this system is the data transmission speed between dual core and dual memory which, in practical use, translates into fast web page loading, the possibility to run multiple programs or applications together, and a realistic and fast gaming experience, without interruptions or slowdowns.
At the same time, you can create 3D content or enjoy videos and images in 3D, all without the obligation to use the appropriate glasses. In addition, the large screen (4.3 inches with “barrier parallax” technology) ensures clear viewing, even in high definition.
In summary, these are the main technical features of the LG Optimus 3D: 1 GHz Dual-Core Dual-Channel Processor; 3D WVGA 4.3” Screen; 8GB and 4GB LP DDR2 Memory; 1500 mAh Battery; 5MP Camera with dual lens; 2D: 1080p MPEG-4/H.264 recording and playback; 3D: 720p H.264 SEI recording and playback; HSPA+, DLNA/HDMI 1.4; H.264, H.243, DivX, MKV, WMV-9, ASF, AVI, 3GP, MP4.
Besides the five folders in the menu dedicated to 3D (Gallery, Camera, Game&Apps, YouTube 3D, and 3D Guide), the same mode is applied to 3D videogames, testable thanks to the presence of three titles already in memory: Asphalt6, Let’s Golf 2, and Nova, all created by Gameloft.
Regarding the 3D videos, LG Optimus 3D is very suitable for connection with 3D channels of Youtube: it is possible to interact, also being able to upload your own videos made with your own smartphone LG Optimus 3D, on youtube.com/3D.
LG Optimus 3D will arrive in Italy during the month of May at a price which, currently, is not yet known. Soon LG will make the update to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) available.
