First report following the release of Internet Explorer 9 in beta: record downloads in the first few weeks of availability. We’re talking about 10 million downloads. Here are all the numbers behind the success of Internet Explorer 9 and the sites that have adopted the new offering from Microsoft.
The first official communications are arriving regarding the release of Internet Explorer 9, just weeks after the beta version launched. The number of Internet Explorer 9 downloads has skyrocketed to 10 million, made from the officially designated websites: labellezzadelweb.it (for Italy) and beautyofweb.com (international site).
If the figure in itself speaks of the launch’s success, an additional data point highlights the phenomenon’s impact: IE9 has surpassed the results obtained by IE8 by 60%, comparing the same time period since their respective releases.
Those who have tested Internet Explorer 9 have further contributed to its development: Microsoft received a substantial 37 million feedback responses.
Internet Explorer 9’s success is not only from an end-user perspective but also from major websites that, in Italy, have decided to embrace the project: AC Milan, Meteo.it-Centro Epson Meteo, Radio Deejay, Ducati, Italian Sailing Federation, Windows Live Hotmail, K Now, MSN, MTV, RTL 102.5, SKY.it, La Stampa.it, studenti.it, TGCOM, and Virgilio are among them.
