Listening to the musical proposals of Spotify through your home stereo will soon be possible, thanks to Spotify Connect. Here’s how it works.
Spotify launches a new service called “Spotify Connect“.
This new service will allow Spotify users Spotify to listen to their playlists and all the music they prefer directly through their home hi-fi stereo system.
The scenario is undoubtedly interesting, allowing you to have a truly remarkable amount of music always available, even without necessarily using your PC or device speakers to enjoy the music streaming service.
Spotify Connect will be available for subscribers to Spotify Premium and initially can only be used via iPhone and iPad.
Within a few weeks, however, Spotify Connectwill also be available on Android devices and the desktop version.
How exactly does Spotify Connect work?
First, you need to open the Spotify app and you will notice the presence of a new button, related precisely to Spotify Connect.
. Once clicked, you will connect to the audio devices – whether they are hi-fi systems or Wi-Fi speakers – and simply start listening to the transferred playlist or a Spotify radio stream, thus without advertisements and with better audio quality compared to listening via PC.
Naturally, for this to happen, you will need a stereo system compatible with Spotify Connect, and we understand that about ten manufacturers have already embraced the initiative, with the upcoming launch of various models suitable for the new functionality.
In particular, companies such as Argon, Bang & Olufsen, Denon, Hama, Marantz, Pioneer, Philips, Revo, Teufel and Yamaha have already joined the project.Spotify Connectare among the companies that have already joined the project.
I audio devices perfect for Spotify Connectwill be easily recognizable: the new systems will in fact be characterized and indicated by a specific logo.
Regarding the smartphone used for the “hooking” operation of the Spotify account, it should be noted that it will not be used to stream music but will function more like a remote control, usable when needed.
For the rest of the time, you can therefore continue to use the device for apps, calls, messages, and browsing.
At the moment, only a couple of compatible hi-fi system models are already on the market, but Spotify informs that new releases are expected by Christmas.
