Characterized by exceptional slim and light design, the new models Portégé X30 e Tecra X40
expand the family of ultra-thin business notebooks and have been designed, manufactured and rigorously tested by Toshiba.
These notebooks follow the recent launch of the 2-in-1 hybrid model Portégé X20W and offer all the advantages of Windows 10 Pro and Toshiba’s long experience in creating mobile devices – from the magnesium chassis to the hybrid cooling technology – guaranteeing the best performance of the 7th generation of Intel® Core processors. Both notebooks will be available in two unique colors: Onyx Blue and Light Gold with thin stripe finishes.

Elegant engineering: uncompromising performance
The new 14” Tecra X40 has a thickness of only 16.9 mm and a weight of 1.25 kg, while the 13.3” Portégé X30 model weighs only 1.05 kg and is extremely thin, only 15.9 mm: they are therefore 11% thinner and 13% lighter than their predecessor.
The ToughBody magnesium alloy chassis allows shock absorption and the unique honeycomb reinforcement increases its resistance. Both notebooks feature Full HD (1920 x 1080) anti-glare displays with optional In-Cell Touch technology to support all the different ways of interacting on the move through the screens. Furthermore, the displays offer a wide viewing angle without compromising on touch screen configurations.
Toshiba’s attention to detail is also demonstrated by the backlit keyboard with slightly wider keys that offer superior typing comfort and maximum durability for users working on the go.
Toshiba confirms its confidence in the reliability of the new products through the Reliability Guarantee, which allows Toshiba or an authorized Service Provider to provide free repair or a full refund in the unlikely event that the device breaks within one year of purchase.
Maximum security and connectivity
To ensure the protection of company data, the new Portégé X30 and Tecra X40 offer multiple levels of internal and external protection. Both integrate biometric and facial authentication technologies – in particular the new SecurePad touchpad integrated with the Synaptics Natural ID fingerprint sensor. Thanks to the IR cameras, facial authentication can be performed through Intel Authenticate and Windows Hello, offering a range of customizable multi-factor authentication options. Used together, these technologies offer a personalized, password-free method for fast and secure login. These protection levels are supported by Toshiba’s proprietary BIOS, eliminating the risk of third-party interference that could make the device more vulnerable to attacks and unauthorized access.
To help business users stay connected and work efficiently wherever they are, the Portégé X30 and Tecra X40 have advanced connectivity features, including compatibility with a range of dongles for different usage scenarios and WWAN will soon be available on the devices.
Maximum portability and reliability
The new Portégé X30 and Tecra X40 house, within an ultra-thin chassis, exceptionally fast PCIe solid-state drives and DDR4 memory, supporting broadband speeds up to 33% higher than previous DDR3L. Furthermore, the notebooks follow in the footsteps of the Portégé X20W-D and deliver a superior audio experience thanks to harman/kardon stereo speakers and DTS Sound software.
To maximize usability, the notebooks are designed to be connected to the new Thunderbolt 3 Dock, which provides power and data transfer. The new docking station features a display port and a range of new ports to simplify and make mobile working more flexible, including two USB Type-C, one full-size USB 3.0, an HDMI port, and a microSD Card slot. Additionally, a SmartCard reader is also available on the devices.
Availability
The new Portégé X30 and Tecra X40 will be available in Europe in the second quarter of 2017.
