It’s called KeyMission 360 and it’s the first Action Camera produced by Nikon.
Nital S.p.A. has announced the launch of a brand-new product, the first in this particular range in the history of the Nikon-branded company.
Its name is KeyMission 360 and it is an Action Cam, a growing segment particularly suited for those who love extreme sports but also, more generally, for those who love direct, on-the-move recording.
The KeyMission 360 actually records 360-degree videos in 4K UHD (Ultra-high-definition), thus delivering very vivid and absolutely realistic results.
This is also thanks to the fact that this special camera – action cam is equipped with an image sensor and a lens positioned on opposite sides.
This option allows capturing images from each side, then merging the footage and effectively creating a single image, offered not only in high definition but also in true 360 degrees.
The presence of an image stabilizer also manages to significantly mitigate the effects of movement, delivering rather clear and sharp footage.
Designed for an active lifestyle, it was built with resistance and robustness criteria concerning the external environment in mind.
For this reason, the KeyMission 360 can shoot underwater – up to a maximum depth of 30 meters – and proves to be resistant to dust, external agents, shocks, and low temperatures.
Further technical specifications of Nikon’s first action cam are not yet known, but new details will certainly be revealed shortly, considering its presentation during the global consumer electronics event, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016.
Nothing has been officially confirmed yet regarding the price; as for its release in major markets, it is understood via an official press release that the action cam will be distributed starting in the spring.
