It is already possible to make video calls via Facebook Messenger: the novelty has been activated in some countries.
Facebook is increasingly pushing towards the development of further innovations related to its proprietary app Facebook Messenger.
This time, a long-awaited update by loyal users has been made official: from today it is possible to make video calls via Messenger.
The application has already been “expanded” with the new functionality but not worldwide: for the launch of the new service, a selection of countries has been chosen.
Video calls can be tested in the United States, Canada, Belgium, Croatia, Norway, the Netherlands, Denmark, Mexico, Great Britain, Ireland, Laos, Greece, Lithuania, Uruguay, and Oman. For the moment, there is no news about Italy, but shortly, in the coming weeks, the update will gradually reach all countries.
Video calls via Facebook Messenger have been made available for both Android users and iOS device users, and the operation is very simple and intuitive.
On the screen for each individual contact, you will notice the presence of a new symbol at the top: a sort of small camera. Clicking on it will initiate a request to make a video call via Facebook Messenger.
It will be interesting to know that video calls will start and be received without any problems even if users are on different platforms: compatibility is full anyway, so an Android smartphone can reach an iPhone via video call – and vice versa – without any difficulty.
Clearly, in order for the connection to take place, you must have a connection, whether mobile (3G and 4G LTE) or Wifi.
