Siri Soon Available on Macs? Apple Files Patent

Apple’s voice assistant Siri will soon be available on Macs: details in a patent.

Technology companies file numerous patents each year; not all will be converted into actual products or features, but they certainly hold importance in the development of ongoing or future projects.
It has recently come to light that Apple has filed a patent related to Siri, its voice assistant already available for some time on iOS devices.
The novelty lies in the fact that this time the company has focused on applying Siri to Macs, therefore in desktop mode.
Siri would be the next step following what has already been proposed on Apple’s fixed devices: currently, Macs already possess all the necessary hardware and software for voice recognition.
It is possible to dictate texts, but not much else; a limitation that could easily be overcome by the implementation of Siri, or something very similar.
This therefore signals a real and tangible help for the user, with the possibility of issuing commands to save time in managing work or leisure.
From details related to the patent that have leaked online, it is learned that the “future Siri for Mac” could open pages to complete searches, without the user necessarily having to divert attention from a document.

An ally, a right-hand man, a true and useful assistant on the desktop platform.
This major innovation could arrive soon in Apple’s plans, and many are betting on the appearance of at least some Siri-style features with the launch of the next operating system, Yosemite.
However, there are no rumors regarding possible launch and presentation dates, nor has the Cupertino company confirmed anything of the sort.
The clues, however, exist and would ultimately lead to something that Apple – albeit only on mobile devices – has already extensively engaged with, and successfully at that.
