Cerberus is an Android app useful in case of theft or loss of your smartphone. Here’s how it works.
Locating your smartphone in case of loss or suspected theft is high priority in such situations.
To mitigate the risk of permanently losing your device, here’s a useful app that functions as an anti-theft system: its name is Cerberus.
The app is available for download on Play Store for free, however, it’s a trial version for using and testing the app for one week.
Subsequently, you can proceed to purchase the license, which will be paid for within the app with a one-time payment.
The price is therefore 2.99 euros, and there will be no further charges; furthermore, with a single purchase, you can associate up to 5 smartphones to the account created on Cerberus.
Cerberus controls devices in three ways:
- via SMS: through remote control;
- via SIM Checker: as soon as an unauthorized SIM is inserted into the smartphone, Cerberus will send an alert;
- via the official website cerberusapp.com.
Cerberus is capable of locating the smartphone and initiating tracking. It’s also possible to set an alarm that will start ringing even if the terminal is set to silent mode.
In case of theft or loss, you can proceed with erasing the internal memory and SD card; additionally, the device can be locked remotely.
You can receive the list of calls made and received by the new user, take photos of them without their knowledge to identify their face, or record audio via the microphone.
Even with GPS turned off, Cerberus reactivates the signal to allow localization, and generally, Cerberus’s functionality is guaranteed even in the absence of a network connection, as it’s associated with the SIM.
Finally, a highly useful feature is the ability to hide Cerberus from the list of downloaded applications.
