Google Map Maker: New Features to Enhance Google Maps

Google Maps become “participatory” and give rise to Google Map Maker.

Google has officially announced a new feature for its territory mapping service, Google Maps: Google Map Maker is now operational in Italy. Anyone can now report information, routes, unmapped roads, and points of interest simply by indicating them through Google Map Maker.
A dedicated team will verify the information provided by users, evaluate the accuracy of the reports, and subsequently integrate these new details directly into the maps available to everyone.
The new information will appear on Google Maps, Google Earth, and Google Maps for mobile, and will naturally be visible worldwide.

You can also report an error in the name of a street in your city or provide a more precise reference for the location of a historic building, as another example of Google Map Maker‘s utility.
The integration of new details into Google Maps is thus becoming increasingly social and participatory, ensuring a plurality of ideas and sources to enrich details on more or less well-known locations.
To start contributing to the Google Map Maker project, you can already register on the official forum: this is the starting point.
