Flash Player is no longer on the Google Play Store, the marketplace where applications for Android devices can be downloaded.
As of yesterday, it is no longer possible to download the application, while those who already have it can continue to use it, with the understanding, however, that it will no longer be possible to receive substantial updates, except for those related to security.
The news is not entirely unexpected, given that last winter Adobe itself announced the decision to cease development of Flash on mobile platforms.
Content that has run via Flash to date will therefore now be displayed thanks to HTML5, which in effect will become a sort of standard in this regard.
In particular, the removal of the Flash Player app is also recommended for users of Jelly Bean, the new version of the Android operating system: it is precisely in this case that Flash is causing the most problems, so much so that Adobe itself recommends uninstallation.
And so, after Apple’s historic and firm rejection of Flash for iOS, here comes the abandonment by Android as well.
