YouTube Shows arrives in Italy, the new section within the video platform that allows you to rewatch TV programs that have already aired. Here’s how it works.
Youtube is increasingly moving towards mass entertainment, and what medium better represents this concept than television?
Thus was born “YouTube Shows“, a project that has also taken shape in Italy, allowing access to many television programs. We talked about it some time ago here on FullPress, at the dawn of the YouTube TV project and today the innovation is fully forming in Italy as well.
It is not simply about posting videos of TV shows: YouTube Shows is born from significant partnerships already signed that allow access to more than 120 video contents.
Among the partners who have joined YouTube Shows is, for example, La7: it will therefore be possible to watch and re-watch previously aired episodes of programs such as “L’infedele“, “Le invasioni barbariche” or “I menù di Benedetta“.
Access to the various television contents on YouTube Shows is very quick and intuitive: you can search directly for the TV program of your interest but you can also perform more general searches, browsing through categories. A kind of zapping on YouTube, then.
There is the cooking section, the one dedicated to sports, or a channel entirely dedicated to news coming from Italy and the world; furthermore, here are the fiction, TV series, and programs for kids.
The range is very broad and embraces a variety of television shows of every kind.
Obviously not everything currently broadcast on TV will then be re-proposed on YouTube Shows: only some TV entities have decided to enter the platform, such as for example Endemol Italia which however has chosen to offer the programs broadcast on its channel “Yam112003”.
Space also for the channels “K2” and “Frisbee” and for the complete series of “Il mondo di Patty“.
Below each selected video, there will be an opportunity to learn details about the episode of interest, the broadcast time on TV, and all the useful information to find new episodes.
Furthermore, the internal system of Youtube Shows will always automatically suggest a playlist containing the previous and subsequent episodes of the program being viewed, to complete the picture offered by this television production or to expand the available programming of the network.
At the time of launch, the available videos amount to 2800 hours of viewing, but it is clear that this number is destined to grow in a short time, especially considering that other television channels might find the Youtube Shows.
