Windows Phone 7 “NoDo” Update Currently Discouraged

Although Microsoft has officially announced the arrival of an update for Windows Phone 7 called “NoDo”, it is currently discouraging downloads. Here are the reasons.

News for Windows Phone 7 owners: an update, known as “NoDo“, is arriving soon and will enable several utilities, such as copy-paste.
However, the most impatient will have to curb their desire to download, as Microsoft itself is issuing a warning.
A sort of “backdoor” is indeed spreading, which would allow for early access to the update.
However, this is a practice that Windows not only disavows but categorically discourages, not holding itself responsible for any potential issues caused to devices following the download.
NoDo is, in fact, still in the distribution phase to the manufacturers of mobile phones and smartphones running Windows Phone 7. Therefore, what might currently be found online would be nothing more than a counterfeit and a potential source of trouble for your device.
Once again, the author of this “mirror” tool is Chris Walsh, no stranger to these practices that Microsoft opposes.
It was he who made ChevronWP7.Updater, a tool for updating Windows Phone 7, available through his website. There’s a veritable avalanche of comments from those who have downloaded, indicating that many have decided to use this unofficial tool to update their smartphones.
It is at this point that Microsoft has decided to speak to users, discouraging this practice and urging patience (as well as prudence): if the update for Windows Phone 7 has not yet been released, it is because issues have emerged which, however, are being resolved.
Updating with something unofficial is risky, as well as pointless, given that the definitive “NoDo” will have improved functionality compared to what is currently circulating online.
WP7 user warned, half saved.
