Volunia, the search engine of the future speaks Italian

What is Volunia? A new search engine created by an Italian who, years ago, developed HyperSearch, the algorithm behind Google.

About Volunia, the search engine of the future, nothing concrete is known yet, except for the name of the person who is developing it, along with a team working on it for about three years: the father of this novelty that is already much talked about is Massimo Marchiori.
A name that, for web and technology enthusiasts, immediately brings to mind the early days of Google: Marchiori is indeed the engineer originally from Padua who years ago significantly contributed to the creation and development of the HyperSearch algorithm, the foundation of Google and its search mechanisms.
For this very reason, the comparison between what Google does today and what Volunia could do can arise automatically.
Marchiori has already spoken on the matter, explaining that it will not be a sort of revised and corrected version of Google, simply because “it would not make sense to challenge a giant“, his exact words.
What Volunia promises is a new web usage experience, focusing on tracking down content coming from all over the world, “fishing” it. This is what you understand by watching a couple of videos that the Volunia staff published on YouTube: it plays on the little scene of the fisherman who patiently waits, while a boy simply putting his hands in the water, manages to pull up a rather big fish.
Another detail that emerges is that Volunia is already proposed with a global spirit, as it will be available at launch in 12 languages.
As for the product release date, there is still discretion, but there could be news by the end of the year.
The only possibility currently offered to learn more is a registration form: by filling it out – and thus leaving your email – you could be selected to become one of the testers of the beta version of Volunia.
Here is the video during which Massimo Marchiori introduces Volunia.
