For those who want to book a taxi ride but in a luxury car, here is the Uber app.
Uber is an app developed in the field of private transportation: through this application, in fact, in various cities around the world – including Italy – it is possible to book a ride in a luxury car at affordable prices, considering the type of vehicle.
It is therefore a middle ground between requesting a taxi and renting a private car with a driver.
Everything can be arranged very quickly through the Uber app which, by geolocating the customer’s request, sends the coordinates to a central dispatch. The system at this point, considering the customer’s exact location, will calculate the fare and, if accepted by the customer, the booking will be finalized and the black sedan will reach the user, who can pay directly through their smartphone.
Currently, Uber operates in 16 countries and 41 cities, and in Italy, the service is already active in Rome and Milan.
There has been a lot of talk about Uber in recent days, for two reasons: from a technological standpoint, it has been reported that Uber recently received substantial funding of $258 million from Google.
As for the more practical aspect, so to speak, Uber has been causing strong protests from taxi drivers and NCC (Noleggio Con Conducente – Rental with Driver) companies in recent weeks, who see this system as an unregulated tool.
