iPhone falls in water: what to do? From today it is possible to trade in an iPhone, even if it has come into contact with liquids: Apple.
Apple this time has truly amazed everyone, announcing a noteworthy change within its policy regarding the device trade-in program.
Starting this week, a new procedure will come into effect, concerning iPhones that have fallen into water or that have otherwise come into contact with liquids.
Until today, in fact, devices of this kind could not be included in the trade-in program.
It is common knowledge that practically all smartphone manufacturers include indicators inside their devices that – if in contact with water or liquids – change color, thus signaling the problem.
This makes them undesirable for trade-in programs and in some circumstances – depending on the policies applied by various companies – this fact even invalidates the warranty.
Apple however, has decided to change its internal rules and accept in the program called Reuse and Recycle iPhones that have previously come into contact with liquids, provided that the overall functionality of the device is optimal.
The change started in the United States but will soon arrive in Italy as well.
Materially, you will need to go to an Apple Store to perform the trade-in; once checked by the designated staff, the iPhone will be evaluated according to Apple parameters and the applicable discount for the immediate purchase of a new iPhone.
will be offered. At this point, you will receive a couponto be used at the time of payment; let’s be clear: thediscountwill be valid only and exclusively for the purchase of anew iPhoneand will therefore not be considered for other Apple products.
The old phone will therefore remain at the Apple Store and will subsequently be sent to the appropriate centers to berefurbishedand to be resold through the appropriate official Apple channels, naturally with a precise indication that it is indeed a refurbished device, with a consequently lower price.
Certainly, this novelty opens the way for a very significant change that perhaps other companies may soon apply as well.
