Toshiba expands the 3.5″ P300 Desktop PC Hard Drive series with two new 4TB and 6TB models. In these new drives, the buffer has been doubled, from 64MB to 128MB, they are also quieter and require less power than other models in the series.
Thanks to the Dual-Stage Actuator, the read/write heads of the drives are optimally protected when the disks are transported alone or integrated into a PC. These hard drives are also equipped with an internal shock sensor that protects data during operation, making them ideal for graphic designers and creatives who work on the go.
Further improvements, such as the implementation of innovative techniques to minimize head movement, allow for increased drive performance in read/write access sequences. This optimization minimizes mechanical workload, improving overall performance to meet the needs of desktop workstations and gamers.
“The 4TB and 6TB drives in the P300 series offer increased storage capacity with lower power consumption, thus providing gamers, graphic designers, and desktop workstation users with more storage space”, says Larry Martinez-Palomo, General Manager Business Unit HDD Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH. “The new models in the P300 series demonstrate Toshiba’s commitment to meeting the growing storage capacity needs and demands of the HDD market and to maintaining performance, quality, and reliability”.
The 4TB P300 is already available on the market, while the 6TB configuration will instead be available in the first quarter of 2020.
