Toshiba has introduced a new 8 TB model to its 3.5″ N300 series of high-reliability hard drives for NAS (Network Attached Storage), ideal for consumer, home office, and small business users.
The new model is optimized to ensure performance, reliability, and maximum resilience for 24/7 high-capacity storage operations. Users can now better meet their needs with the 8 TB version, which joins the previously launched 4 and 6 TB models.
The N300 series is designed for NAS environments where large volumes of data must be stored continuously and reliably. With support for up to eight drive bays in multi-RAID NAS configurations, it can meet the growing demand for data storage.
All N300 series drives feature a large 128 MB data buffer and Toshiba’s Dynamic Cache Technology, a self-contained cache algorithm with integrated buffer management, which optimizes cache allocation during read/write processes to ensure the high-level performance required by real-time domains.
To maximize reliability, Toshiba’s N300 series integrates advanced technologies, such as advanced control and detection technology to mitigate the effects of vibrations, drops, and overheating, preventing downtime. For example, multiple drop sensors detect and compensate for shocks and rotational vibrations, while error recovery control reduces data error recovery time. Reliability is further supported through Toshiba’s Ramp Load technology, which reduces wear and the possibility of hard disk head breakage.
The high-reliability 8 TB N300 hard drive is available from February with an extended three-year warranty at a price of 430 euros including VAT.
