The highly popular and widely used Skype is now available on Windows Phone: the specific app has just been released on the Windows Phone Marketplace.
The ability to download Skype for free for your Windows Phone device is now available to everyone: this news is not surprising, as the application’s release has been anticipated for several weeks.
The official presentation of the beta version took place some time ago: during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Microsoft took the opportunity to announce this news, which has now fully materialized.
Since February, various improvements have been made to the system, in order to offer a more complete product today for making free calls between Skype users or paid calls to anyone, at very low prices.
It’s no coincidence that new features have also been introduced, such as portrait mode video calls or the ability to send (or accept) invitations directly from the application. The same system applies to blocking or unblocking contacts.
Microsoft currently reports that Skype for Windows Phone has shown excellent performance on flagship smartphones produced in conjunction with Nokia, specifically on Nokia Lumia 710, Lumia 800, and Lumia 900.
Furthermore, HTC Titan and HTC Radar have proven particularly suitable for the app, as has the Samsung Omnia W.
