Skype 5.0 for Mac: New Features and Group Video Calls

Skype 5.0 for Mac has just been released for download: the main novelty is multi-user video chat, free for a 7-day trial.

Skype 5.0 for Mac has just been launched and, to introduce its main new feature, the multi-user video chat, a trial offer is in effect.
It is possible to use group video calling for free for 7 days (this is a Premium service); at the end of the trial period, you can then choose to purchase “daily tickets” at the price of 3.49 euros (excluding VAT) or the second purchase option is represented by the monthly subscription, offered at 5.99 euros (also in this case, the amount is VAT excluded).
In any case, all new subscribers will be entitled to 7 days of free trial of the service.
Skype 5.0 for Mac’s group video calling is available for video chats with up to five participants.
From a graphical-functional point of view, the windows of Skype 5.0 for Mac have been reduced compared to previous versions; this happened after the Skype development team received feedback from users. Furthermore, the visual field of the contact list has been expanded, allowing you to see – with a simple overall glance – 30% more contacts than before.
Still on the subject of rationalizing visual spaces, the white spaces between messages have been reduced, allowing you to read more text without having to use the chat/window scroll.
To get a first taste of all the new features of Skype 5.0 for Mac, we recommend the official video made specifically for the launch of this new version of Skype for Mac.
