Samsung Galaxy tab 8.9 is the new tablet that effectively combines the needs of keeping price in consideration with the performance of the device itself.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is poised to become one of the tablets that will be talked about the most towards the end of 2011. Positioned in the middle ground between those who want a screen that is not small (compared to 7 inches) but not excessively large (10 inches), the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is manageable with its dimensions (230.9 x 157.8 x 8.6 millimeters) and its weight of 470 grams.
Its processor is a dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 at 1 GHz which interfaces with the operating system Android 3.2 Honeycomb. An update to Android Ice Cream Sandwich is expected within the first few months of 2012.
Returning to the screen, it’s an 8.9-inch capacitive TFT display that – combined with the integrated graphics acceleration technology – delivers clear, bright, precise, detailed, and sharp images. This is probably the first of the strengths of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9.
The main camera is 3 Megapixels with LED flash and autofocus, while the front-facing camera – useful for video calls – is 2 megapixels. It’s also possible to record videos in HD format at 720p/30fps.
Three versions are planned, in terms of available storage for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9: 16, 32, or 64 GB, with the possibility of further expansion via microSD up to 32 GB.
Out of the box, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is equipped for Wi-Fi connections, but the 3G module is available as an “extra”, with a corresponding increase in the device’s price. Other connectivity modules are Bluetooth 3.0 and A-GPS.
Many apps are available, found on both the classic Android Market and Samsung’s market, perfectly integrated with specific Samsung devices.
Regarding the price of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 in Italy, it is 579 euros in some online stores and large-scale distribution stores.
