Samsung has officially unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy S6: here are the technical specifications and release date.
Samsung’s new top-of-the-range smartphone will also arrive in Italy shortly. As widely anticipated, the Samsung Galaxy S6 was unveiled at the start of Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona, delivering a high-end product to the press and industry observers, undoubtedly.
First and foremost, the new Samsung Galaxy S6 represents a significant innovation for the manufacturer regarding construction materials: plastic has been abandoned in favor of glass (Gorilla Glass 4) and metal.
From a technological standpoint, the “engine” of this smartphone consists of the brand-new 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processor with 14nm technology, LPDDR4 memory, and UFS 2.0 flash memory.
The display is 5.1 inches, with Quad HD Super AMOLDED technology, 577 pixels, and 600cd/m2 for brightness.
Two cameras are available: the main one is a 16-megapixel high-sensitivity camera with an F1.9 lens, high-resolution sensors, High Dynamic Range HDR, fast tracking Auto Focus, OIS optical image stabilization, and white balance with an IR sensor.
The secondary camera, on the other hand, is a 5-megapixel one and is placed on the front.
Another area that has seen significant work is battery life: this new model allows the device to be recharged 1.5 times faster than before, with excellent results after just 10 minutes of charging.
Furthermore, there is the possibility to recharge the battery using wireless chargers, with wide compatibility with models on the market.
Several colors are available:
- White Pearl,
- Black Sapphire,
- Gold Platinum,
- Blue Topaz.
The price has not yet been officially announced, while regarding the release date of the Samsung Galaxy S6 in Italy, the device will be available for purchase starting from April 10, 2015, in both 32 GB, 64 GB, and finally 128 GB versions.
Pre-orders, however, can be accepted starting from mid-March.
