Increasingly insistent rumors speak of HTC entering Google’s sphere of action, producing the next Nexus 6.
Preparations are in full swing for the launch of the next Nexus-branded smartphone, and consequently, the industry whispers about the device are multiplying. The latest rumors suggest a renewed collaboration between Google and HTC is now almost fully confirmed. This has been partially discussed on FullPress.info: just a couple of months ago, it was reported that HTC might be the company chosen by Mountain View to produce the next Nexus series tablet.
Today, instead, speculation surrounds the Nexus 6. While many hypotheses are emerging, there’s only one certain detail: Google’s next smartphone will certainly be released in the second half of 2014, as announced by the Google staff during the last Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona, which concluded in February 2014.
An indication that could favor a potential collaboration with HTC also relates to the release of the HTC One M8: it is indeed known that a “Google Edition” version will soon be commercially available. Therefore, industry insiders are hypothesizing that the next Nexus 6 — if indeed designed by HTC — could closely mirror the brand-new terminal in many of its features.
As often happens with rumors of this kind, the two companies involved in the anticipation have currently chosen not to comment on the leaked rumors in any way: there have been no denials or official confirmations yet.
