At the end of February, Sony will hold an event during which the new PlayStation 4 will most likely be presented.
Sony has officially announced that it will hold a meeting on February 20th for the presentation of a new product.
The news comes directly from Sony circles, via a video that doesn’t refer to anything specific but, summing up recent declarations from the past few weeks, suggests the probable presentation of the new PlayStation 4.
The only clues contained in the video are precisely the PlayStation symbols, which strongly lean towards this hypothesis.
Initially, due to its excessive proximity to the start of World Mobile Congress 2013 in Barcelona, it was actually thought to be a product or announcement related to the world of smartphones and tablets.
However, the *Wall Street Journal* fuels the PlayStation 4 hypothesis, releasing the scoop that the mysterious object would indeed be the new gaming console.
Not only that, but they go even further: the PlayStation 4 could have many social features that would allow for a real “dialogue” with the console, thanks to a brand-new technology connected to the optical drive.
Despite the announcement at the end of February, the PlayStation 4 should still be marketed in the coming months, perhaps by the end of 2013, but the desire to reveal some details early could be explained by considering that Microsoft will also be launching the new Xbox soon, and therefore Sony is likely trying to surprise the market before the competition.
