Pentax K-30 is the new semi-professional category DSLR, just introduced by the company. Here is an overview of its features and its sale price.
The semi-professional DSLR sector welcomes a new model branded Pentax: the new camera has been introduced Pentax K-30.
The first novelty to keep in mind is that the camera body is designed to resist dust, scratches, extreme cold, and water. This feature makes it perfect for outdoor situations and even extreme sports contexts, considering also its manageability and lightness (it weighs 650 grams including the battery).
Regarding the section more specifically dedicated to photography, the Pentax K-30 features a 16.28-megapixel CMOS sensor paired with the PRIME M image processor.
The shot is precise and fast (up to 6 photos per second) and the sensitivity reaches peaks of 12,800 ISO, with possible expansion up to a maximum of 25,600.
In addition to taking photographs, the Pentax K-30 also allows recording Full HD videos at 30fps.
As for the optical viewfinder, it is made with a glass prism and allows 100% coverage of the framed scene: it may not be an unprecedented feature but it certainly becomes so if this peculiarity is found in a camera of this price range, since usually such expectations pertain to professional-level cameras.
Therefore, the Pentax K-30 positions itself in an open space for those who want an entry-level DSLR but also aspire to capabilities worthy of a professional-type device.
The good photo quality is also ensured by the new focusing system based on the SAFOX IXi+ AF sensor with 11 points, 9 of which are cross-type.
Every detail can be seen and reviewed immediately thanks to the display located on the back of the camera body: a 3-inch LCD wide-angle screen with 921,000 dots.
Regarding the battery, a lithium D-LI109 is included in the package, however, it is also possible to use AA batteries, provided the adapter is inserted into the camera body.
The price of the Pentax K-30 is 849 dollars for the camera body alone or 899 dollars for the camera body with an 18-55 mm standard zoom lens. It will be possible to purchase this camera starting from the end of July, choosing from the three color options offered: blue, black, or white.
