First previews of Nokia EOS, the Finnish company’s next flagship. Here are the first known features.
Nokia is reportedly working diligently on the upcoming release of a new smartphone, touted as the flagship of its next phone collection.
Currently, the codename known for this device is Nokia EOS, and while we await confirmation on whether the smartphone will retain “EOS” as its commercial name, it’s possible to begin mapping out its technical specifications.
Some previews reveal certain characteristics, such as the inclusion of a powerful, precise camera unlike any seen on smartphones to date.
It would, in fact, feature a sensor of up to 41 megapixels, with technology similar to that of the Nokia 808 PureView. Completing the package would be a variable aperture, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization), and a powerful Xenon + LED flash.
Definitely an unprecedented and very significant photographic component.
From the perspective of the EOS‘s core, Nokia has also opted for noteworthy components: it is learned that the Snapdragon 800 Quad Core processor would have been chosen, paired with the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
Furthermore, the battery should be 2000 mAh and the screen – likely with a diagonal close to 6 inches – Full HD, with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. There is also mention of an FM transmitter module.
An ambitious and highly appreciated feature set for the Nokia EOS: we simply have to wait for further confirmations or denials in the coming weeks, as the launch of this device is not expected in the short term; its release is likely scheduled for the end of 2013, in the best-case scenario.
