The price of Motorola XOOM 2 has just been officially announced: the new tablet in the Xoom family is on sale, here are its features.
Motorola has decided to further expand its tablet range by launching the Motorola XOOM 2. Already on sale as of today, Monday, January 23rd, the XOOM 2 arrives with its technical specifications featuring Android 3.2 Honeycomb as the operating system, supported by a good 1.2 GHz dual-core processor.
Much effort has been put into the display: it is a 10.1-inch HD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass technology.
This means that in addition to having quite vibrant colors – more so than its predecessor Xoom – it ensures a certain resistance to scratches, dust, and even water, being water-repellent.
Obviously, this does not mean it is completely waterproof, but that the screen has good splash protection.
Continuing the comparison with the Xoom, it is noticeable that different solutions have been sought to ensure greater lightness for the tablet, and indeed the XOOM 2 weighs 599 grams, which is 100 grams less than its elder sibling.
Returning to the technical details, the RAM is 1 GB, while the internal storage is 32 GB, further expandable via microSD cards.
Regarding the video capabilities, the front camera is 1.3 megapixels, while the main camera – the rear one – is 5 MP, with support for digital zoom, auto-focus, and LED flash.
As for the audio department, the presence of 3D virtual surround technology is noteworthy, something to try and test, for example, while watching movies.
The battery life declared by Motorola records 10 hours of autonomy when actively using the tablet, meaning browsing, using applications, and watching movies. In standby mode, however, the Motorola Xoom 2 could last more than a month.
Regarding the price of the Motorola Xoom 2, it is currently available for purchase at 599 euros.
