Marco’s Keyboard, free educational software

The keyboard has been designed to enhance perceptual-motor skills, but it can be used by both teacher and student to carry out various reading and writing activities. The software uses the Text to Speech engine and Microsoft SAPI runtime.

The software “Marco’s Keyboard” was developed in collaboration with Prof. A. Andreani, head of CE.TE.I.S. (Territorial Center for School Integration). Install Marco’s Keyboard, a text-to-speech engine and Sapi 4.0 runtime from Microsoft. Use it if your PC does not have a text-to-speech engine and Sapi 4.0 runtime from Microsoft installed.

Features
The keyboard was designed to enhance perceptual-motor skills, but can be used by teachers and students to carry out various reading and writing activities (reading, understanding short sentences or single words; fill-in-the-blanks exercises, correcting grammar, spelling, and syntax errors) and for all other activities suggested by experience. It is also useful for listening to the correct pronunciation of Italian words.
It is very simple to use: pressing each key on the keyboard lights up the corresponding letter, while a synthesized voice pronounces the individual letters. After typing a word or a sentence, by pressing the period key, what has been written will be read aloud.
